Copayment Health Reimbursement Arrangement Information

For In-Network Claims:

  • OUT-OF-NETWORK copayments and deductibles are NOT reimbursable
  • Services NOT covered by Aetna are NOT reimbursable, even if the provider is In-Network
  • The HRA will reimburse 80% of IN-NETWORK Medical and Prescription copayments. Only the portion NOT reimbursed may be claimed by you as medical expenses for tax deductions.
  • For reimbursement claims, use the IAA Reimbursement Form and submit them to IAA:
IAA Reimbursement Form (Fillable PDF, 69KB)
  • You must include your Aetna Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and Pharmacy Information Sheets. This can be found online via the Aetna website or you can request paper copies. Receipts, canceled checks, credit card receipts and proof of payment or notice of payment due that do not include your medical information will NOT be accepted.
    Example Aetna EOB
  • The Reimbursement Claim Form only has room for 8 expenses (medical or prescription), but you may submit additional sheets if needed.
  • Reimbursement Claims must be submitted within 90 days of the date of service.
  • Reimbursements are issued after the following month’s Board of Education meeting.
  • If you paid a copay to your doctor and your Aetna Payment Summary/EOB is NOT showing that you have a copay for that visit/service, you should contact Aetna to see if you reached your Out of Pocket Maximum:
    • In-Network Medical (Individual) $400
    • In-Network Medical (Family) $800
    • Prescription (Individual) $3,000
    • Prescription (Family) $6,000
